Happy Tuesday everyone! The winter weather has finally hit London; I’m currently sat in a coffee shop in Covent Garden escaping the ice cold temperature as I wait for my next lecture. A change in season means a change in outfits, so I’m looking forward to sharing this first winter look of the year with you all!
For today’s look, my initial influence was the Marc Jacobs Autumn/Winter 16/17 collection. Accompanying the highly embellished, layered and black dominated looks was the staggeringly high laced up platform boots, causing the models to tower over the audience with inhuman height. These bold boots on the runway completed the Victorian, haunting nature of the collection, sealing a deliciously dark trend for this season. When spotting a similar (though not quite so toweringly high) pair of boots, I instantly purchased them as an essential for my autumn/winter wardrobe this year.
In addition to the new boots, I channeled some Vetements vibes with this sweatshirt I recently bought from Zara, which I wore backwards to add more of a statement to the look. I find that Zara really is the best high street store to find pieces with clear similarities to those high fashion items which we all love but are slightly out of our budget! In Zara I also found this gorgeous oversized biker jacket similar to Acne’s velocite shearling jacket, which I’m super excited to wear this winter due to its incredible warmth and trendy look.
Let me know your thoughts on this look in the comments box below! Wishing you all a wonderful week.
