Good afternoon everyone! Today’s post is in collaboration with Adore Me, and I’m going to be sharing my Beach Day Musts with you. It’s that time of year again where many of us are jetting off to sunny locations for a summer holiday. If you’re going on a beach holiday in particular, there are many essentials that you’ll need for the beach in order to have fun, but also keep safe. Adore Me have therefore asked me to share my absolute musts for a day at the beach. Check them out below:
~ Bikini/Swimming Costume – for me, no beach day is complete without a bikini or swimming costume! I’m a massive fan of swimming, and so love to adventure into the sea whilst on a day out at the beach. Adore Me offer a great selection of swimwear which is available in all different sizes, so there’s the perfect outfit for anyone travelling to the beach!
~ Towel – one could not travel to the beach without a towel in their bag; it’s perfect for sunbathing on, should you not wish to use a sun-bed, and is also practical following a swimming session in the sea!
~ Hat – this #beachdaymust is both practical and fashionable; a big beach hat will protect you from the beaming sun and shade your face, should you wish to read! Yet you can look very fashionable with a beach hat too; personally, a white hat is my favourite option! I bought this lovely hat above in Santorini and it has certainly served me well; I’ve worn it to the beach as well as during trips around the island.
~ Flip-flops/sandals – these are extremely affordable and light to carry to the beach, so there’s no excuse not to bring them! They’re the easiest type of shoe to slip on and off, and protect your feet from getting burnt by the sand.
~ Water – !!! It’s so important to keep yourself hydrated when you’re spending a day in the sun, so water is one of my top musts! It’s the perfect way to prevent dehydration and refresh yourself!
~ Sun Cream – we all have different skin types which react differently to the sun, however some form of protection is essential. Whether you require a lower or higher factor, be sure to keep your skin safe and allow yourself to tan as naturally as possible with the help of sun cream. I like to begin my holiday using a higher factor, for example 30 SPF, and the more time I spend in the sun, I gradually decrease my SPF to 15. Nonetheless, some form of sun cream is a top must for a beach day!
~ After Sun – This is more of a post-beach day product, but I wanted to share my favourite after sun with you all! Garnier’s Ambra Solaire After Sun is undoubtedly the best product I’ve used after sunbathing. It’s glycerol and vitamin E formula maintains your tan; and I’ve found that since using it, my tan has gradually deepened across the course of my holiday. I even use it when I return from a holiday to keep my colour for as long as possible! It’s a great product which I highly recommend.
~ Body Lotion – to prevent that horrible pealing and dry skin that we hate after burning, you should always moisturise! My favourite moisturisers to use are by Jo Malone – my skin feels always feels so healthy and hydrated afterwards, and all of the scents are amazing!
~ Camera – if you’re like me, you’ll love taking photos wherever you go, as there’s nothing more rewarding than capturing your memories! I take my Olympus Pen E-PL7 everywhere, as the photographic results are incredible! Best of all, it’s WiFi feature allows you to send them instantly to your phone in a mere minute! A camera is a must for me, but if it’s not for you most phones of today have great camera on which can capture equally great photos!
~ Phone & earphones – a phone is great for snapping some quick photos, and also listening to music whilst sunbathing on the beach. A must for entertainment!
~ Make-up – throughout my trip to Santorini, I’ve barely worn make-up when visiting the beach or sunbathing around my hotel. However, I do like to take a couple of products with me just in case. A neutral lipstick or lip balm is always in my bag, as is some loose powder. I’ve also added Mascara and bronzer on the photograph above, as I tend to bronze my face a little if I’m looking quite tanned!
~ Books/magazines – these a great way of entertaining yourself, and a book in particular is highly likely to keep you highly relaxed in the sun!
~ Sunglasses – I tend to wear sunglasses for most of my holiday, as I always need them! They’re certainly a must for a sunny beach. I added two of my favourite pairs on the photo above as, in reality, I can never choose just one pair from my very big collection!
These products have been essential to both my days at the beach as well as around the pool across my trip to Santorini! For any of you going on beach holidays this summer, I hope these tips help! Do any of you have any extra musts for the beach? Let me know your tips in the comments box below, as well as your thoughts on the photographs taken for this post!
